Ashtanga and Flow yoga
Ashtanga and Flow yoga is for all levels, Ashtanga is the mother of all flow yoga. It combines breath with movement. Ashtanga primary series is a set of postures which includes standing postures, seated, and basic inversions. The standing sequence allows you to build up a sweat as well as tone and strengthen your body. The seated postures gently stretch and unwind your back, shoulders and legs. The ending poses are designed to calm your nervous system which allows you to enter into a deep relaxation.
Restorative Yoga
Resoritive yoga is calming poses that gently open the body. The program also includes Kin stretch and CAR’S (Controlled Articular Rotations). End range joint circles that allow you to maintain articular health, teach improved control and serve as an assessment tool for joint health.
Prenatal Yoga
Because I had my babies at home water birth I understand what it takes to prepare the mind and body for labor. Poses are designed to prepare for the physically demanding feat of labor and to relieve the aches pains of pregnancy. Please consult a health care professional before starting any new physical activity.
Children’s yoga
Children are natural yogis. Therefore, I encourage their natural instincts in a nurturing creative environment, while instilling in them physical discipline and giving them the life long gift of obtaining muscle memory.
Senior Chair Yoga
Yoga is good for anyone of any age. There is always a way to accommodate every student, no matter their current physical limitations. Seniors are given chairs and other props, so they can learn standing poses that strengthen. Straps and cushions are used for seated postures that stretch and improve posture and balance. Connecting movement to breath help calm nerves and improve memory.
Privates
Help develop a personal practice that caters to every student. Yoga traditionally was not taught in a large room full of people and loud music. It was a one-on-one experience. I like to return to that idea whenever possible. This is ideal for people who have physical limitations, people who are just starting their yoga journey and want to start a practice, and anyone who feels stuck or wants a deeper understanding of their current practice.
